Matomo audit
When numbers don't add up, teams stop trusting their data. The audit reviews your Matomo setup systematically and ends with a prioritised action plan rather than a long list of issues.
How I work
- 01Review tracking code and tag manager
- 02Data quality: duplicates, spam, gaps
- 03Archiving and performance
- 04Prioritised action plan
What is reviewed
- Tracking: integration, tag manager container, goals, e-commerce, campaign parameters
- Data quality: duplicate page views, bot and spam traffic, missing site sections, internal visits
- Configuration: websites, segments, permissions, privacy settings
- Server: archiving, cron jobs, database size, version and updates
Result
You get a compact report with findings, an assessment and an action plan. Every action gets a priority and an owner, so it is clear who does what next.
The audit is also available for Google Analytics 4 and Google Tag Manager, for example when both systems run in parallel.
After the audit
An action plan your team can work through.
Every finding gets a priority, an owner and a status. This is what the plan looks like, shown here as an example.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
What do I get at the end of the audit?
A compact report with findings and an action plan. Every action has a priority and an owner, such as web development, IT operations, marketing or data protection. Your team can work through the list right away.
Do you need access to the server?
A Matomo account with admin rights is enough for tracking and configuration. For archiving, database and performance a look at the server helps, ideally together with your IT team.
Do you implement the actions as well?
If you like, fully or in part. Your team handles many items itself, and I help with the rest, for example tag manager, archiving or data clean-up.
