Matomo for energy suppliers
Energy suppliers win customers online through tariff calculators and sign-up journeys and look after them in the customer portal. I measure these journeys from the postcode in the tariff calculator to the signed contract and show where prospects drop off. My projects include lekker Energie.

From tariff calculator to contract
Entry, postcode, consumption, tariff choice, contract details, sign-up: I measure every step as part of a funnel, separated by energy type and tariff. That shows where prospects drop off and which changes bring more contracts.
Improving sign-up journeys
Forms with many fields are the most common hurdle. I record at which step and at which field prospects give up, without storing the input itself, and so provide the basis for tests and improvements.
Customer portal and self-service
Which features do customers use in the portal, where do they abandon a task, and which paths still end at the hotline? We measure features and processes, not people.
Channels and campaigns
With custom channel groups and clean campaign names you see which campaigns and partners bring contracts through your own website. Contracts can be reported server-side to Google Ads and other platforms.
Contract data stays out
Addresses, meter numbers and bank details do not belong in web analytics. I define what is recorded and filter sensitive fields out before tracking.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Can a tariff calculator be measured as a funnel?
Yes. Every step from entry through postcode and consumption to tariff choice and the sign-up journey becomes a step in the funnel. That shows you where prospects drop out.
How do we measure the customer portal without personal data?
Without customer numbers or names in tracking. We measure features such as submitting a meter reading or changing the monthly payment, not individual people.
Does contract data end up in tracking?
No. Addresses, meter numbers and bank details are filtered out before tracking. Only the fact that a step was reached or a contract signed is recorded, with tariff and energy type if you like.
Can contracts be reported to Google Ads?
Yes, server-side from Matomo and without an ad tag on the website. What is transmitted is agreed with your data protection team.
